Refractive Lens Exchange

A refractive lens exchange is another option to provide a decreased dependency on glasses for some people.  This is often used in patients who have a prescription out of the range of what LASIK or ICL surgery can treat or in patients who are in their late 40’s or older instead of ICL.

Refractive lens exchange involves using the same procedure that we use for cataract surgery, but removing the lens before it has become a “cloudy” cataract.  This will eliminate the need for future cataract surgery.  It also allows us to employ the same intraocular lens options that we offer for cataract surgery, including monofocal, multifocal, and astigmatism correcting (toric) lenses.

Dr Mitchell and Dr Morin would be happy to discuss the various refractive surgery options with you (Refractive lens exchange, LASIK or ICL) and help tailor your treatment to your specific situation.
